Ancient Origins is a mid-series XY set from August 2015 that introduced iconic Mega Evolutions and competitive Trainer cards that shaped the format for years. The set is notable for its powerful secret rare chase cards featuring legendary Pokemon, particularly M Rayquaza-EX which commands exceptional prices due to its competitive dominance and limited print run. With a modest 100-card total, this set remains highly sought after by both competitive players and collectors pursuing vintage XY-era cards.

Investment Outlook Bullish Strong collector demand for nostalgic XY-era cards combined with limited supply and the enduring competitiveness of staple Trainers like Hex Maniac continues to support price appreciation.

Reprint Risk Low The secret rare Mega Pokemon and ultra rares are unlikely to receive direct reprints due to their vintage status and the shift in modern set design away from this era's card pool.
